"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
At Newport Center UMC, we believe in connecting with Jesus, with others and with the world. We support our missionaries, local community organizations, and international organizations through financial donations, gifts in kind, and volunteering.
In 2010 we are focusing primarily on supporting two organizations - The Friendly Center of Orange and The Laguna Resource Center. There are many opportunities throughout the year for you to get involved. If you prefer to give support through donations (whether they be financial or gifts in kind), or if you prefer to serve in a hands-on approach, we want your participation! Please watch for announcements here or in our Sunday bulletin for mission team activities.
We post opportunities for volunteering in the community on a regular basis on the white board in the Narthex. Check it out - there is something for everyone!
Do you have an interest in being part of the team that identifies missions opportunities? If so, consider becoming a committee member. We meet every other month for 45 minutes after the 10 a.m. Sunday service. Contact Diane Thomas for more information.

DECEMBER
We will once again be holding our “Alternative Christmas Market.” The market is an opportunity for you to buy gifts or give donations to those in need in honor of a loved one. We will be supporting three organizations, to be announced at a later date.
