At Newport Center UMC, we believe in raising up children as disciples (Proverbs 22:6). Through Sunday morning learning, mid-week studies for our 3rd-6th graders, Vacation Bible School, and summer camp, we hope that God will be revealed to each child that attends Newport Center UMC. Our Children's Program at Newport Center UMC offers Sunday morning nursery care for infants and Sunday School for toddlers - elementary age.


MEET OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL STAFF

We offer the following programs at the 10 a.m. Sunday morning service:

 

NURSERY CARE: Our nursery is located at the south end of the building; there are signs to help direct you. Feel free to ask an usher for help in locating it.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Once children sign-in at the Children’s Ministry Table, they go to one of two places: 1)older elementary students (grades 3rd-6th) go to the Youth Room for a time of worship, 2) children younger than 3rd grade will go into the sanctuary for the Children’s Moment. The teachers will meet their students either in the Youth Room or the sanctuary to personally take the kids to their classes. After the service, please pick your child up in their classroom (Toddlers: Room 1, Preschool: Room 2, Pre-K & Kindergarten: Room 3, 1st-2nd grade: Room 4, 3rd-4th grade: 3rd-4th grade church classroom, 5th-6th grade: 5th-6th grade church classroom).

 

If you have any questions or concerns, please ask the ushers to point you to the Children’s Ministry table in the narthex, where a staff member or volunteer will be available to answer your questions.

34-56 Club is for all 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th graders.
We learn about God together and build relationships through weekly meetings and special "epic" events throughout the year!

WEEKLY MEETINGS

Join us every Wednesday night in the Youth Room for a time of fun and learning about our faith! We will meet weekly starting in January 2010. For more information, contact Kelsi Walker at 949-644-0745 or email her.

SUMMER CAMPS

Bring your friends to our crazy fun summer camps and beach days listed below! Summer camp is an amazing way to grow in your faith and create memories with your friends. Registration forms are available in the church office or on our Web site (www.newportcenterumc.org). Scholarships are available for anyone in need. Contact our Children’s Director, Kelsi Walker with any questions.

Vacation Bible School

August 2-6, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Cost: $75 (or $100 for more than one child)

Family Beach Days

Wednesday, August 25th, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Join us for swimming, sand castles and some fun in the sun! Families and kids are welcome to meet us at the beach the last Wednesday of each month during the summer located at Big Corona. Just look for a canopy with “Newport Center UMC” on it. If parents are unable to attend, but wish to drop off their kids, please contact Kelsi Walker, so we can make sure we have enough staff. All are welcome!
